Our visit
3-5 Oct 2023, and a day trip from Venema on 29 Sep (diary; the 'Outer Reef' episode). Sandy anchorage among bommies near Smith's Pass; still a bit swelly.
Getting in
Our 2023 visit: tricky to get into with scattered bommies; the best part is marked just before the channel.
Anchoring (us)
We weaved round bommies to a sandy spot near Smith's Pass (Oct 2023). Still a bit swelly, but the calmest it had been since we arrived. Come in with the sun high.
Notes (us)
Some of the best snorkelling of the trip: a deep, crystal-clear lagoon with a maze of bommies and swim-throughs, eagle rays in the sand, stampedes of surgeonfish and parrotfish, and the biggest coral trout we've seen.
