- Depth
- 14 m
- Bottom
- coral with sand patches, holding good
- Water
- The village is short - people walk a long way for water. Don't count on any (2022).
- Notes
- Main village on the NE of the island, round from Hoba Bay - a very calm day anchorage (usually you'd stay in Hoba Bay). Large, nice village making bagi (shell money) and exceptional handicrafts - visitors can help weave a mat or hat or make a bagi necklace. Lots of canoes come to trade fruit and vegetables for fishing line, clothes and dive masks. A fence keeps feral pigs out of the gardens; people walk some way to collect water. Climb the hill to the Coronation Tree (planted when Queen Elizabeth was crowned) for the view. Three churches (UCM, CRC, United); picnic spot ashore and nice snorkelling. See the chief first.
- People
- Tracey - Sunday school teacher (2023); Robert - pastor (2023); Samual, Emiller (2023)
